Book #1 from the series: The Bloodwrought Cycle

Dragons of Blackmoor: (The Bloodwrought Cycle Book 1)

About

When the truth about your family could make you the next victim, how far would you go to uncover it?

Melissa Moore was never supposed to set foot in Blackmoor. But an unexpected death brings her to a town where her family’s name is tied to an unsolved massacre.

As people begin disappearing again, Melissa starts searching for answers about the past she never knew, only to find herself caught in something far more dangerous than old family secrets.

Xylar Thorne hides behind the persona of a college student. Beyond campus, he is the Beast of Blackmoor, feared throughout Oregon. He knows the trouble in Blackmoor isn’t ordinary. Not when witches and dragons are dying in the streets, and somehow, every trail seems to lead back to Melissa.

Melissa wants answers. Xylar wants to know why death seems to follow her name.

But the deeper they dig into Blackmoor’s past, the more dangerous the truth becomes, and Melissa is about to learn that whatever destroyed her family may not be finished yet.

A slow-burn supernatural fantasy full of secrets, grief, and tension that cuts deeper than claws. For fans of atmospheric worldbuilding, layered romance, and the kind of mystery that leaves bruises.

Praise for this book

Dragons of Blackmoor had me in a CHOKE HOLD. I devoured this book in a day; it was such a good read. The book gave me all the spooky and mysterious vibes. Add a brooding male lead with a bright and funny female lead, and you get intense YEARNING. I fell in love with our main characters and loved to see them grow emotionally, learning to trust each other while facing an unknown. I enjoyed the world building and where the book was headed. Now, I usually refuse to read books with cliff-hangers, and if this book weren't so good, I would not read the next one, but I'm addicted, and I NEED to know what happens next. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I absolutely loved this book. From the very first page, it completely pulled me in and refused to let go. The writing is direct and easy to sink into, but the story itself is packed with so many thrilling twists and turns that I was genuinely hooked the whole way through.

One of my favourite things was the characters. They all felt distinct and interesting, and both the FMC and MMC have real depth with backstories that actually matter. Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic is chef's kiss; the slow build had me on edge, and that wait for the kiss? Mind-blowing in the best way. I'm also a sucker for a morally grey MMC, and this one delivered perfectly.

Honestly, this series feels like it has huge potential to explode, especially with such a strong cast of characters to build on. If you're a fan of intense paranormal romance, you might find yourself saying move over, The Vampire Diaries; there's a new obsession in town.

A huge 5 stars from me.
